Skills Support

  • My Learning Essentials – The Library’s programme of academic skills support, including workshops, drop-ins and online guides. 
  • University Centre for Academic English – The UCAE offers a range of workshops, resources and one-to-one sessions for students wishing to improve their academic English and study skills.
  • Academic integrity guide – This online guide takes you through what academic integrity is how you can avoid academic malpractice during your studies. 
  • Develop your digital capabilities – This set of resources will help you to develop in areas such as digital communication, learning, and wellbeing, which can be useful in your studies and in the future. 
  • Jisc Discovery tool – A questionnaire to help you diagnose areas where you could improve your digital skills. 
  • LinkedIn Learning – During your studies you have access to the online learning platform LinkedIn Learning which contains a wealth of resources to help you develop your skills especially digitally. 
  • Specialist Library Support – Library support in the specialist areas of business data, copyright, referencing, advanced searching and systematic reviews. 
  • The Student Digital Equity Charter co-created with the Students’ Union, sets out the University’s commitment to ensuring that all students can effectively engage with their learning and development opportunities.

  • The Careers Service offers support to help you explore options, develop skills and prepare for applications through advice, workshops and one‑to‑one guidance. It also provides access to jobs, internships and opportunities via CareerConnect.
